Electronics manufacturers, Samsung, have joined the ranks of the Android phones with the Galaxy i7500, which is a small phone with large possibilities. It is the first android phone to come with a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack and this will ensure that one can enjoy music on any kind of headphones. Released in June 2009 in the UK on the O2 network and rumored to launch in the American market under T-Mobile’s wing, this phone has promised to give other android phones a run for their money and at about 240 Sterling Pounds, it is easy to understand why this phone is being considered the android of the future.
The Samsung Galaxy i7500 has been considered the slimmest of the pack at a mere 11.9 millimeters and the lightest at about 116 grams. It has a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen that has great color and resolution and even comes with a light sensor to regulate the screen’s brightness. It comes with a mini USB port where one can connect a USB cable and transfer images, videos and music into its 40 gigabytes of storage space, eight of which is already on-board. It also allows one to store what is captured on the high-powered 5-megapixel camera found at the back of the phone. The signature D-shaped keypad makes for easy navigation and comes with an additional blank button that will return the user to the home screen.
The Galaxy i7500 comes with a virtual on-screen keyboard that is user friendly and comes with stereo Bluetooth and a clear loudspeaker. It comes with video capabilities and all these are supported power-wise by a Lithium battery that will allow for almost 9 hours talk time but much less when one is using the browser and other features but has been considered the strongest battery among the android phones. It is a great Google Android phone as it allows one to use Google Mail, Google Maps, Google Latitude, and other services offered by Google. Its browser has so far been lauded as it loads fast, has clear resolution, and coupled with Wi-Fi capability, makes for a great browsing experience. It used the Samsung PC suite, which will allow one to synchronize their phone and computer, sort documents and data stored on the phone transfer documents off and to the phone.
Its operating system or OS is the Android version 1.5 and has been nicknamed ‘Cupcake’. It allows one to move between applications, folders, and widgets in what is similar to walking around ones screensaver. It shows clear YouTube videos but it has been noted that it does not have a pre-loaded Facebook application that one can easily acquire over time. One can drag features and applications to the home screen from the menu in a flash and one can receive notifications on activities going on with Galaxy i7500’s applications like calendar reminders, text and call notifications and even sites that one has logged on to like Twitter and Facebook. This phone is highly anticipated in the world market, as it will change the face of smart phones forever.
