Are you a Mobile Security Expert?

The people at Google Android are asking for help from mobile security experts in order to sort out any potential security issues they have with the platform.  They say they have done a lot of work so far in terms of fixing bugs but with so many devices and applications due to be used  with the platform they need the help of other people to spot things they have missed.

Still on course for Quarter 4

We are still on course to get our hands on Android in the 4th Quarter of this year.  There have been rumours that it will be delayed until 2009 but to be completely honest there seems to be a fair bit of silence, so we can just assume that it is still on course for the end of this year.

One thing that there seems to be no silence about is the fact that developers aren’t getting enough support from Google.  It seems that Google might need to keep touch with all those developers who need help with coding issues.

It’s one thing making a platform open source but then you need to have the support to keep that platform going.  Google has the resources to offer the support, it’s not like they are a struggling startup but if they are not careful, another open source platform will become the market leader because it will be easier to develop for.
