by admin on March 19, 2010

The Archos Android phone was set to hit the market in January 2010 and information on the specs and features to be expected was leaked to the market raising more questions on what the market ought to expect from the phone. It was set to hit the market with added features and specifications that would phase out other Android phones, which were already available in the market. Archos has designed the smart phone to suit and fit the size of the iPhone, one of the major reasons it has been categorized as a smart phone. Slightly slim with 10mm package, the touch screen of the Archos phone is 4.3 inches a feature that makes it easy to access all the buttons with ease.

It is supposed to have a great LCD touch screen with a high resolution of 854 by 480 pixels making it great for still and video pictures and to further compliment this feature, it has a 1GHz processor. These features are by far very powerful and it would stand to be seen if the Archos Android phone would be able to live up to these specifications. If it does, then the phone will be classed with other models such as Snapdragon and the Windows powered Toshiba, Tgo1 that were known to take the market by storm. The Phone measures 203 by107 by 23 mm and this largely is what boosts its internal memory.

It also has great multimedia capabilities that make are supposed to ensure that texting and sending multi messages is easily accessible and that it cannot be done with difficulty. The internal memory of the phone is also a great feature to look out for. With at the very least 64 GB flash memory, this phone is able to store enough data and in a convenient way. However, it was not yet established the version that the phone would run on whether Android v 2.0 or Android v 2.1. Though that is the case, it was set to be compatible with various applications such as Mac, Windows PCs and Linux and be able to support a variety of video formats such as MPEG 1,2,3, WMV, FLV among others and among the audio supported formats, there would be AAC, FLAC, AVI among others. The reception of the phone is also set to be on the high side and especially on voice calls, which is an added advantage.

All these features make the Archos Android phone worth looking forward to and at the same time, hope that it will be able to deliver all these features and more. It was set to hit Asian countries first before getting distributed to other countries and this would be good ground to gauge how the market will receive the phone and if it will out do other Android phones available in the market as is expected. However, there were expectations that the specifications of the phone would change or falter with time, the Archos Company has maintained on the laid out specifications so far and now, it is only a matter of time before it becomes apparent if the French company will make any impact on the market.
